Ubisoft E3 2017 Condensed

Originally started by 5 brothers in France, Ubisoft now boasts 35 international game development studios and greater than 10,000 employees. 2017 and beyond looks very positive for Ubi.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle

Release: August 29
Platform: Nintendo Switch

Two of the most family-friendly IP’s combine to create the next Nintendo Switch system seller. This game will keep the Switch sold out through to Xmas.

Assassins Creed Origins

Release: October 27
Platform: Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One

Skillfully framed as “what we’ve been working on since Black Flag”, Origins reveals the birth of the Brotherhood in Ptolemaic Egypt. Thankfully combat looks a lot more varied which is a huge plus for me.

The Crew 2

Release: 2018
Platform: Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One

Not just cars, boats and planes and bikes! Be the fastest on all things motorized!

South Park: The Fractured But Whole

Release: October 17
Platform: Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One

Just like a South Park episode but hours long and interactive.

Transference

Release: 2018
Platform: HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, PlayStation 4 / VR, Xbox One

Yeah like I need more nightmares about Elijah Wood. I haven’t used my Oculus Rift for a true horror game yet (because I’m a chicken) but it’s nice to see that genre is being developed.

Skull and Bones

Release: 2018
Platform: Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One

Literally a whole game based on Black Flag’s ship battles. Might take some wind out of Sea of Thieves’ sails.

Just Dance 2018

Release: October 24
Platform: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Wii U / Switch

Just Dance, does what it says on the box.

South Park: Phone Destroyer

Release: 2017
Platform: iOS, Android

Considering the state of phone battery technology, Phone Destroyer may end up being more accurate than they intend.

Starlink: Battle for Atlas

Release: 2018
Platform: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch

Not sure how compelling accessory-based games are post-Skylanders but looks kinda ok.

Steep: Road to the Olympics

Release: 2017
Platform: Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One

PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics DLC for Steep! Not all that s-noteworthy.

Far Cry 5

Release: February 27
Platform: Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One

Religious fundamentalists take over a Southern county, your only option is to explosions your way out. God Bless Ubisoft.

Beyond Good and Evil 2

Release: ???
Platform: ???

You won’t be playing this for another year or more so don’t get too excited, but definitely get excited because it looks incredible!

Summary

Actually a really solid presentations with a lot of high points. Felt like there was something for everyone and that’s a pretty impressive feat.
